The Al-Matayen area in Al-Jib village was the main source of soil suitable for making the clay, which was used in the pottery industry in the village. Al-Ma area is located in the northwestern part of the village. In 1977, the settlement of Givat Ze'ev was built in the Al Matayen area, and itis currently outside the boundaries of the apartheid wall which makes it inaccessible from Al Jib.
