The Research and Publication Unit

RIWAQ, with its different units and programmes, has worked on the protection and preservation of cultural properties in Palestine. RIWAQ realized the shortage in research, publication and resources related to the Palestinian cultural properties. Consequently, RIWAQ established the Research and Publication Unit in 1999. Since then RIWAQ's publication has ceased to be limited to its annual agenda and journals. In collaboration with The Institute of Jerusalem Studies, RIWAQ has published a collection of books within the series "RIWAQ's Monograph Series on the Architectural History of Palestine" edited by Dr. Suad Amiry.

RIWAQ published in the first year the following two books: Traditional Floor Tiles in Palestine - Suad Amiry, Lena Sobeh
Memoirs Engraved in Stone, Palestinian Urban Mansions - Diala Khasawneh

In 2002 RIWAQ published three books: Artas, the loss of a water system - Jamal Barghouth, Mohammad Jaradat Ramallah, History and Architecture - Nazmi Al Jubeh, Khaldoun Bshara Earthquake in April - Suad Amiry, Mouhannad Hadid

     

Two more books were published in the year 2003:

Manateer (Traditional Village Watch Houses) - Suad Amiry, Firas Rahhal

In 2006 Riwaq published: "Riwaq Guidlines for the Maintenance and Restoration of Historical Buildings in Palestine", prepared by Khaldun Bshara.
